The final stop on our summer college tour, following High Point, was Campbell University.
The Basics
Campbell is a private college located in Buies Creek, North Carolina. They have about 6000 students with a 16:1 student-to-faculty ratio. Aside from their main campus in Buies Creek, there are three other campuses in Raleigh, Camp Lejeune, and Fort Bragg, as well as an online option.
The Christian Aspect
Campbell seems to be loosely associated with the Baptist church. They are definitely welcoming toward Christians, but they do not have required chapel services, and they do not seem to place a strong emphasis on Christianity. During our tour, they hardly mentioned anything religion related. The About Page on their website calls the university an “inclusive Christian University”.
Academics
Campbell features a wide list of majors and minors, as well as associate degrees. They also have a 4+1 MBA program for students to obtain a bachelor’s degree and an MBA in five years instead of six. Campbell has an honors program with a 25 credit hour requirement and a study abroad experience. These requirements take the place of some of their general core classes.
